Taylor Cahill will volunteer with the Bloomsburg wrestling team while leading the Husky Elite Wrestling Club team.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - Taylor Cahill will step in at Bloomsburg under Head Coach John Stutzman as a volunteer assistant wrestling coach.
"We are extremely excited to add Taylor to our staff," said Coach Stutzman. "I have known the Cahill family for over 12 years and his ability to connect with our student athletes will be invaluable."
Cahill is a Somerset County, Pennsylvania native and was a Pennsylvania standout wrestler at Conemaugh Township Senior High School before transferring to his alma mater Berlin Brothers Valley. Cahill remains as one of the top-eight winningest wrestlers in PIAA District V history with 143 career victories. He was a three-time PIAA State Qualifier, two-time District Champion, NHSCA High School All-American, AAU High School All-American, PWCA Academic All-State, 2015 Somerset County Outstanding Wrestler, four-time conference champion, PAWF Freestyle State 2nd, 1st, & 4th place finisher, and the 2015 Escape the Rock 5th place finisher. Cahill capped his 2015 senior campaign with a 41-6 record and a PIAA AA 3rd place finish. USA Wrestling magazine ranked Cahill as high as #17 in the country as a high school wrestler.
Cahill began his five-year NCAA wrestling career at Bloomsburg University in 2015-2016 season where he utilized his redshirt season before transferring to conference rival Clarion University. Cahill earned a B.S. in Nutrition & Exercise Science after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Clarion. Cahill was a Scholarship ROTC Cadet that was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Medical Department as a 70B.
As a Golden Eagle wrestler, Cahill was in the starting lineup every season covering 157, 165, 174, and 184 pounds. Cahill was a three-time PSAC All-Conference honoree with 4th, 5th, and 3rd place tournament finishes. Coach Cahill was a three-time PSAC All-Academic team honoree. Cahill placed 2nd at the Clarion Open, 5th at the NC State Wolfpack Open, 3rd at East Stroudsburg Open, 4th at the Mat Town Open on two occasions, & 4th at the final EWL Championships in 2019. At Clarion, Cahill was an honorable mention All-American appearing in the national rankings during his redshirt sophomore season, in which he went 21-11.
Cahill spent his fifth year of eligibility under coach John Stutzman at the University of Buffalo with a 10-3 record. Notable wins during his fifth year came with the defeat of NCAA Division I All-American from Ohio State University, Gavin Hoffman, and NCAA Division II Most Dominant Wrestler, Scott Joll.
After his NCAA wrestling career, Cahill turned his focus to starting a wrestling club in Somerset County, The Shop 814. He runs The Shop 814 with his brothers Tanner & Toby Cahill as well as Pennsylvania four-time PIAA State Champion, Gavin Teasdale. They have trained numerous state champions, state medalists, High School All-Americans, and one Fargo National Freestyle Champion in a short three-year timeframe.
Additionally, Cahill is currently a 2-1 International Professional MMA Fighter. He fought his first two professional fights internationally. Both bouts took place in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and Niagara Falls, Ontario. Cahill started his professional career with a victory, which came in the first round via RNC. Cahill had an impressive but short 2-0 run as an amateur MMA fighter, which consisted of a long drawn out, extremely difficult process generally centered around a hardship having individuals agree to accept bouts against him. Eventually, Cahill decided to trace his coach's history and fight his first professional bout internationally in Rio De Janeiro, a place that is known as the birthplace of modern MMA. Cahill is signed with KO Reps under Oren Hodak, a top-tier world renown selective management team. Cahill has trained at Brazilian Top Team and American Top Team, along with many smaller MMA facilities as he learned the world class skills he embodies today. Cahill won numerous awards and has praise from some of the biggest names in the sport of MMA, and is surely one of the most promising American prospects in the world today.
In 2022, Taylor competed on the first World Championship Team for USA Grappling beside his brothers World Bronze Medalist Toby Cahill and USA Grappling 71kg representative Tanner Cahill. Taylor was the 84kg representative for Team USA in the 2022 UWW Senior Grappling World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain.
