Gerwyn Price smiled at the crowd after seeing Chris Dobey blow five match darts during their World Championship quarter-final showdown on Wednesday. And the 2021 champion, who has endured a tumultuous relationship with the Ally Pally crowd over the years, then started dancing after taking advantage to clinch the seventh set of the match.
The two darts stars went head-to-head in the first encounter of the day for the chance to reach the last four.
And Dobey eventually came out on top after fighting back from 2-0 down to win the contest 5-3.

Price and Dobey both began the match in fine form as they found their range, with the Welshman narrowly winning the first set, before pulling away in the second.
But Price, who was playing with an ear infection, allowed Dobey to get back into the match as his opponent won back-to-back sets to draw level. The Geordie star then kicked on and dazzled at the oche as he won another two sets to move 4-2 ahead.
Dobey appeared to be cruising to victory and had five chances at doubles to win the match. But his nerves appeared to get the better of him as he was off-target again and again.
And when he failed to hit a D1 on two occasions, Price pounced to take the set before allowing his emotions to get the better of him as he showed off his dance moves on stage. But he was ultimately left with egg on his face as Dobey got the job done in the end.

The result means Dobey has reached the World Championship semi-finals for the first time in his career after exiting the tournament at the quarter-final stage in each of the last two editions.
Last year, the 34-year-old was beaten 5-4 by Rob Cross after being humbled 5-0 by Michael van Gerwen in 2023.
And following his victory over Price, Dobey told Sky Sports: “This is at the top. Getting over that defeat last year and getting over the line this year means so much. I've never been so nervous throwing at a winning double than I have today.

“I was thinking about last year and kept thinking, 'Keep going, you will get another chance’. Luckily I found a way over the line. I'm overwhelmed.
“He played brilliant. He didn't give it as much as I thought he would. That might have helped me.
“I'm buzzing to get that win. I probably wouldn't have done it without this crowd.”
